Imagine exploring castles, gardens, historic houses, and wild landscapes — as many times as you want — from as little as £12 a year for your entire family.
🌿 National Trust Funding & Freebies
The National Trust offers free admission for up to two carers per disabled child or disabled adult. A child's yearly national trust membership is just £12 for the year. You can apply for your carers cards by calling the National Trust Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895. Or emailing the National Trust at enquiries@nationaltrust.org.uk
That means you can explore castles, gardens, historic houses, and wild landscapes as many times as you want with the National Trust, from as little as £12 a year for your entire family. This is based on a 1 child, two adult family. To add further children would cost a further £12 each for a year's membership per child.
From a home education perspective, National Trust visits provide rich, hands-on learning experiences:
-
🏰 History comes alive: Castles, stately homes, and heritage sites spark curiosity about the past.
-
🌿 Science & nature: Gardens, coastlines, and woodlands become living classrooms for ecology, biology, and conservation.
-
🎨 Art & culture: Exhibitions, architecture, and artefacts broaden creative horizons.
-
🧘 Wellbeing: Calm, open spaces help children regulate, explore safely, and build confidence in new environments.
This isn’t just a day out — it’s an extension of your home education curriculum, rooted in real experiences.

Spotlight on Phonics – with Ann Sullivan
We’re delighted to bring to the SEN Home Ed Circle subscription service, new phonics resources created by Ann Sullivan — a leading voice in phonics for SEND learners. Her programmes (Phonics for SEN, Pathway to Phonics, Access to Phonics, and A Parent’s Guide to Phonics) are designed to support autistic children, non-verbal learners, and children with complex needs.
These resources are about more than letters and sounds — they’re about giving every child the key to communication and confidence in reading.
From Me (Rebecca) To You
Whether it’s exploring history at a National Trust property, practising phonics in a way that truly works, or finding joy in new numeracy skills, remember this: you don’t have to piece it all together alone.
At the SEN Home Ed Circle, we’re here to bring the best tools, opportunities, and support straight to your kitchen table — so your child can learn in ways that feel safe, regulated, and right for them.
Thank you for being part of the Circle 🌱
